Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Anthropic Strategic Partnerships

Anthropic, Microsoft, and NVIDIA have entered into strategic partnerships to scale the Claude AI model on Microsoft Azure, optimize hardware architecture for AI workloads, and provide expanded enterprise access to Claude. This collaboration ensures that Claude becomes the only frontier model available across the world's three most prominent cloud services.

Infrastructure Scaling and Compute Commitments

Anthropic is scaling its Claude AI models on Microsoft Azure, powered by NVIDIA hardware. To support this growth, Anthropic has committed to purchasing $30 billion of Azure compute capacity and contracting additional compute capacity up to one gigawatt.

NVIDIA Technology Partnership

Anthropic and NVIDIA have established a deep technology partnership focused on design and engineering collaboration. The goal is to optimize Anthropic's models for performance, efficiency, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), while simultaneously optimizing future NVIDIA architectures for Anthropic's specific workloads.

Anthropic's initial compute commitment includes the use of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems, with a total capacity of up to one gigawatt.

Enterprise Access via Microsoft Azure and Copilot

Microsoft is expanding its partnership with Anthropic to increase business access to Claude. Key developments include:

  • Microsoft Foundry: Customers will have access to frontier Claude models, including Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Opus 4.1, and Claude Haiku 4.5.
  • Microsoft Copilot: Claude will continue to be accessible across the Microsoft Copilot family, including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio.

Financial Investments

As part of these agreements, NVIDIA and Microsoft are investing in Anthropic. NVIDIA has committed up to $10 billion and Microsoft has committed up to $5 billion.

Cloud Provider Status

Despite these new partnerships with Microsoft and NVIDIA, Amazon remains Anthropic's primary cloud provider and training partner.
