Anthropic Series G Funding and Enterprise Growth

Anthropic has raised $30 billion in Series G funding, valuing the company at $380 billion post-money. This investment is intended to accelerate frontier research, product development, and infrastructure expansion to support Anthropic's position in enterprise AI and agentic coding.

Funding Details and Valuation

Anthropic's Series G round was led by GIC and Coatue, with co-leadership from D. E. Shaw Ventures, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, ICONIQ, and MGX. The round included a wide array of institutional investors, including Accel, Alpha Wave Global, Altimeter, BlackRock, Blackstone, Fidelity Management & Research Company, General Catalyst, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Insight Partners, Jane Street, JPMorganChase, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Sequoia Capital, Temasek, and TPG, among others. The funding also incorporates portions of previously announced strategic investments from Microsoft and NVIDIA.

Revenue Growth and Enterprise Adoption

Anthropic has achieved a run-rate revenue of $14 billion, growing over 10x annually for the past three years. The company reports significant growth in its enterprise customer base:

  • High-Value Customers: The number of customers spending over $100,000 annually on Claude has grown 7x in the past year.
  • Large-Scale Integration: The number of customers spending over $1 million annually has increased from a dozen two years ago to over 500 today.
  • Market Penetration: Eight of the Fortune 10 companies are now Claude customers.

Agentic Coding and Claude Code

Claude Code, released to the general public in May 2025, has become a primary driver of growth. Its run-rate revenue has exceeded $2.5 billion and has more than doubled since the beginning of 2026.

  • User Growth: Weekly active users have doubled since January 1, 2026.
  • Market Impact: An analysis estimated that 4% of all public GitHub commits worldwide were authored by Claude Code, doubling its share from the previous month.
  • Enterprise Shift: Business subscriptions have quadrupled since the start of 2026, with enterprise use now accounting for over half of all Claude Code revenue.

Product Expansion and Model Capabilities

Anthropic has expanded its product suite to include "Cowork," a tool that applies agentic engineering capabilities to general knowledge work. Cowork features eleven open-source plugins allowing specialization for roles in legal, finance, and sales. Additionally, Claude for Enterprise is now available for organizations operating under HIPAA, expanding its reach into healthcare and life sciences.

Technical capabilities are led by the recently launched Opus 4.6 model. This model is designed to power agents capable of managing professional-grade documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Opus 4.6 is currently the leading model on the GDPval-AA benchmark, which measures performance on economically valuable knowledge work tasks in finance and legal domains.

Infrastructure and Cloud Strategy

Anthropic maintains a diversified infrastructure strategy to ensure performance and resilience for enterprise customers. Claude is the only frontier AI model available across all three major cloud platforms:
