Anthropic Expands European Presence with New Paris and Munich Offices

Anthropic has announced the opening of new offices in Paris and Munich to expand its global operations and support accelerating demand across Europe. This expansion follows recent office openings in Tokyo, Seoul, and Bengaluru, and complements existing European locations in London, Dublin, and Zurich.

Rapid Growth in the EMEA Region

EMEA has become Anthropic's fastest-growing region, characterized by significant increases in both revenue and customer acquisition over the past year:

• Revenue Growth: Run-rate revenue in the EMEA region has grown more than 9x in the past year.
• Customer Expansion: The number of large EMEA business accounts—defined as customers representing over $100,000 in run-rate revenue—has grown more than 10x over the past year.
• Workforce Scaling: Anthropic has tripled the number of employees in the EMEA region within the last year.

Strategic Importance of France and Germany

France and Germany were selected as new hub locations because both countries rank among the top 20 globally in Claude usage per capita. These offices will serve as regional hubs for commercial growth, partnership development, and policy collaboration.

Anthropic's European workforce will cover all business functions, including research, engineering, sales, and operations. The company notes that Claude is being utilized by a diverse range of enterprises, including L'Oréal, BMW, SAP, Sanofi, Lovable, N26, Pigment, Qonto, and Doctolib, to handle tasks such as software improvement, writing new computer programs, and resolving network issues.

EMEA Leadership Appointments

To manage this expansion, Anthropic has appointed a specialized leadership team:

• Thomas Remy (Head of EMEA South): Based in the new Paris office, Remy will oversee France, Italy, Iberia, Middle East, and Africa. He previously spent 11 years at Google Cloud.
• Pip White (Head of EMEA North): Based in the London office, White will lead go-to-market efforts across the UK, Ireland, Benelux, Nordics, and Israel. She brings 25 years of experience from Salesforce, Google, and Slack.
• Guillaume Princen (Head of EMEA Startups, Mid-Market and Digital Native Businesses): Focused on driving growth within these specific segments.
• Head of DACH & CEE: A new role will be announced to oversee Central and Eastern Europe, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

Local Partnerships and Community Engagement

Anthropic is partnering with several educational and cultural organizations in France and Germany to support the AI ecosystem:

• TUM.ai: Supporting two hackathons hosted by this student initiative at the Technical University of Munich.
• Unaite: Partnering with a French organization to support two hackathons in 2026 to advance AI education and developer communities.
• LAS Art Foundation: Supporting a major exhibition in Berlin scheduled for next year, focusing on the intersection of art and technology.

Anthropic now operates offices in 12 cities globally, including San Francisco, Seattle, New York, and Washington D.C.
