The Stargate project in Argentina is being led by Sur Energy, which will act as the energy and infrastructure developer. Sur Energy is tasked with leading the formation of a consortium that includes partnering with a cloud infrastructure developer to ensure the data center ecosystem is powered by secure, efficient, and sustainable energy sources. OpenAI has expressed interest in becoming an offtaker for the project.

AI Adoption and the OpenAI for Countries Initiative

OpenAI is discussing opportunities with the Argentinian government to drive AI adoption through the "OpenAI for Countries" initiative. This program focuses on integrating AI tools like ChatGPT into government operations, administration, and research institutions to accelerate daily workflows, reduce costs, and increase the efficiency of services delivered to citizens.
