🤖 The largest directory for AI-ready documentation and tools implementing the proposed llms.txt standard

What is this?

A public collection of llms.txt files and related tooling. llms.txt is a standard text file a website can publish to tell AI models how to read its docs or codebase. This repository gathers real-world examples of that standard in use.

The goal is to be a central place to discover and share these implementations across many projects and platforms.

What problem does it solve?

AI tools often guess how to interpret a website's documentation. An llms.txt file gives them clear instructions, so they can avoid scraping irrelevant pages or misreading context. The README lists the claimed benefits:

  • Guides AI models on how to use your documentation
  • Standardizes how LLM tools access docs
  • Makes AI answers about your project more accurate
  • Improves the developer experience with AI assistants
  • Sets explicit boundaries for what AI can and cannot do with your content

What's in the repository?

1. A categorized directory of real llms.txt implementations

Primary categories: AI & ML, Developer Tools, Data & Analytics, Integration & Automation, Infrastructure & Cloud, Security & Identity.

Secondary categories: personal, agency, e-commerce, education, media, international, other.

The README currently shows a long list of entries (under headings like "agency services") that includes law firms, digital marketing agencies, interior designers, car rentals, and similar sites — each with a link to its llms.txt file. The list appears to be auto-generated (there's a <!-- LLMS-LIST:START --> marker in the source).

2. Developer tools

Six tools, all linked in the README:

  • LLMs.txt Checker — a Chrome extension that checks whether websites publish an llms.txt file
  • VS Code Extension — search and browse llms.txt files directly inside VS Code
  • MCP Explorer — explore and analyze llms.txt files via the Model Context Protocol (a way for AI assistants to access external data)
  • Raycast Extension — search and explore llms.txt files from the Raycast launcher
  • LLMs.txt Generator — generates an llms.txt from a sitemap, crawled pages, and AI
  • llmstxt-cli — a command-line tool that installs llms.txt docs as "skills" into 35+ different AI coding agents (available via npm)

How to read this project

If you maintain a website or a developer tool, you can look at how others publish llms.txt files, or you can use the listed generators and checkers to adopt the standard yourself. If you build AI-powered tools, the directory gives you a snapshot of which sites already expose machine-friendly documentation.
