pocketpaw/pocketpaw

Your AI agent in 30 seconds. Not 30 hours. Self-hosted, open-source personal AI with desktop installer, multi-agent Command Center(Deep Work), and 7-layer security. Anthropic, OpenAI, or Ollama.

What it solves

PocketPaw is a self-hosted AI agent designed for users who want to own their AI infrastructure rather than relying on cloud-based subscriptions. It eliminates cloud lock-in and ensures data privacy by running entirely on the user's local machine across Windows, macOS, and Linux.

How it works

The system uses an event-driven message bus that routes communication from various channels to an AgentLoop. This loop connects to one of six interchangeable agent backends (such as Claude Agent SDK or OpenAI Agents) to process requests. It features a native desktop app built with Tauri and SvelteKit that interfaces with a Python backend via REST and WebSockets.

Who it’s for

It is aimed at power users and developers who prefer local-first AI, want to integrate their AI agent across multiple messaging platforms, and require high security and data sovereignty.

Highlights

  • Multi-Channel Access: Connects to Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Matrix, Teams, and Google Chat.
  • Local Inference: Supports Ollama for fully offline operation.
  • Extensive Tooling: Includes over 50 tools for browser automation, web search, image generation, and OCR.
  • Deep Integrations: Connects with Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, Spotify, and Reddit.
  • 7-Layer Security Stack: Employs a "Guardian AI" to review tool calls, injection scanning, and a self-audit daemon.
  • Semantic Memory: Uses Mem0 for long-term fact storage and smart session compaction.
