What it solves

The mobile version of the Internal Beyond personal AI assistant brings a rich companion experience to your phone while keeping all your data on your device. Instead of cloud-hosted accounts with unpredictable data handling, this project runs entirely in your browser: chat logs, memories, API keys, settings and files never leave your device unless you export them. It also lets you import your official ChatGPT or Claude chat history so you can continue old conversations with the same AI on this app. A companion desktop version exists, and both share the same backup format, so you can move between phone and desktop without losing context.

How it works

Everything lives in one HTML file (index.html) plus a small folder of optional app files. You unzip the repo, open the file in a modern browser, and the app works immediately — no installation, no server, no build step. You add AI API keys on the API page; each configured endpoint (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, DeepSeek, Gemini, or a custom relay) becomes a separate AI "friend" with its own nickname, conversation prompt, and feature permissions. All data is stored in the browser's local IndexedDB database, and the app offers one-click JSON export/import that matches the desktop version's format.

The AI features are organized into panels that mimic a phone home screen, lock screen, chat, calls, letters, calendar, diary (Blog), music player, a world map, a file workspace, and more. The memory system (AGB, "The Abyss Gazing Back") has two parts: a shared memory library of past events, and per-AI memory profiles that record what you are like. Before responding, an AI retrieves only a few relevant memory entries for the current turn, and you can inspect which entries were recalled and why — and correct them. A vector-search enhancement can be enabled by providing your own vector service; those requests go only to that service.

Voice and video calling are supported with real-time transcription and per-sentence reading, acoustic tone reference, heartbeat prompts, gift effects, and even incoming calls from the AI. Certain features like online music services (NetEase Cloud Music or QQ Music) or search require network access; the app handles login tokens locally and routes requests through your own relay for services that block direct connections.
