OpenAI has released a preview of ChatGPT Pulse, a new experience that shifts ChatGPT from a reactive question-and-answer tool to a proactive assistant. Pulse performs asynchronous research to deliver personalized, topical updates to users each day, reducing the burden on the user to initiate every interaction.

App Integrations for Enhanced Context

To increase the relevance of suggestions, Pulse allows users to connect Gmail and Google Calendar. These integrations are disabled by default and can be toggled in settings. When active, Pulse can use calendar data to:

User Curation and Feedback Loops

Users maintain control over the content Pulse researches through a "curate" function and direct feedback mechanisms. Users can explicitly request specific research topics for future editions, such as professional tennis updates or local event roundups.
