xAI Grok Build Mode Early Beta

xAI has launched Build Mode in Early Beta, enabling users to generate functional software applications, websites, and interactive tools directly within the Grok chat interface. This feature allows for the rapid prototyping of working versions of an idea through natural language descriptions, which can then be published to a link for public or team access.

Rapid Prototyping and Live Previews

Build Mode transforms the chat interface into a development environment where Grok writes the code and renders a working preview live in the conversation. Users can iteratively refine the project by requesting changes to the layout, adding new features, or restyling elements without needing to install software or configure environments.

While the users can interact with the code if they choose, the system is designed so that they never have to touch the code to achieve a working result.

Supported Creation Categories

Build Mode is capable of generating a variety of interactive digital products, including:

• Websites: Including business sites, portfolios, and landing pages.
• Apps: Tools with real state and logic, such as calculators, trackers, planners, and internal utilities.
• Games: Including interactive 3D worlds, puzzles, and arcade racers.
• Interactive Dashboards: These leverage connectors to pull in business data and convert it into filterable views and live charts.

Deployment and Sharing

Projects created in Build Mode can be published to a grok.me link or hosted on a custom domain owned by the user. This allows for immediate sharing with teams or external stakeholders.

Availability and Access

Build Mode is currently available in Early Beta for SuperGrok Heavy subscribers. It can be accessed via the mode switcher on grok.com, as well as on the official Grok apps for iOS and Android.
