OpenAI Grove Cohort 2 Announcement

OpenAI has launched the second cohort of OpenAI Grove, a program specifically designed for technical talent at the earliest stages of company building. Unlike traditional startup accelerators, OpenAI Grove focuses on individuals who may be "pre-idea" but possess a deep curiosity for building with AI, providing them with a talent network, mentorship from OpenAI researchers, and early access to tools.

Program Structure and Commitment

The OpenAI Grove program consists of a five-week engagement hosted at the OpenAI San Francisco headquarters. The program runs from January 22, 2026, to February 27, 2026.

In-Person and Asynchronous Requirements

Participants are required to attend in-person sessions during the first and last weeks of the program in San Francisco, with OpenAI covering the travel costs for these sessions. The intermediate weeks are completed asynchronously, requiring an estimated time commitment of 4–6 hours per week.

Curriculum and Support

The program includes the following resources:

  • Technical Mentorship: Participants receive mentoring from OpenAI technical leaders and counsel from the OpenAI team.

  • Workshops and Office Hours: The program features in-person workshops and weekly office hours.

  • Talent Network: Participants are integrated into a dense network of peers within the Grove cohort, which consists of approximately fifteen participants.

There is no requirement for the product being built to be based on OpenAI's APIs; the program is open to anyone aspiring to build with AI.
