What it solves

MetaBot provides a self-hosted personal agent workbench that allows users to interact with powerful coding AI engines (like Codex and Kimi Code) through common messaging platforms. It solves the friction of switching between a terminal and a chat interface, enabling users to write code, run tests, and manage long-running AI tasks directly from mobile or desktop IM apps.

How it works

MetaBot acts as a bridge between messaging channels (Feishu/Lark, Telegram, Slack, WeChat) and AI coding engines. It supports multiple engines including Codex CLI, Kimi Code, and Claude Code. The system consists of a Core and a Bridge that manage sessions, tool execution, and workspace access. Users can configure multiple bots, each with its own engine and working directory, and coordinate them via Agent Teams.

Who it’s for

Developers who want a mobile-friendly way to manage their AI coding agents, those who prefer interacting with LLM-based coding tools via IM apps, and users who want a self-hosted, private environment for their AI agents.
