rotemweiss57/gpt-newspaper
GPT based autonomous agent designed to create personalized newspapers tailored to user preferences.
What it solves
GPT Newspaper creates a personalized, AI-driven newspaper based on user-defined topics. It automates the entire journalistic process—from research and writing to fact-checking and illustration—to deliver a formatted front page with cited sources.
How it works
The project uses a multi-agent system built with LangGraph to simulate a professional newsroom. The process follows a structured workflow:
- Research & Planning: An assignment editor plans targeted searches, which are executed in parallel via Tavily's news index.
- Curation: A curator agent filters and ranks sources, widening the search time range if necessary to find relevant content.
- Writing & Review: A writer agent drafts articles with inline citations, and a critic agent reviews them for accuracy and clarity, sending them back for revisions if needed.
- Visuals: An art director commissions AI-generated illustrations in specific house styles (Ink, Engraving, or Risograph) or uses source photos.
- Publication: A designer and editor-in-chief organize the content into a layout and save the final edition as an HTML or PDF file.
Who it’s for
Individuals who want a curated, cited news summary of specific interests, developers looking for an example of complex multi-agent orchestration using LangGraph, and users who want to customize their model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, Mistral, xAI, DeepSeek, or local models via Ollama).
Highlights
- Multi-Agent Newsroom: Uses a specialized team of agents (Assignment Editor, Search, Curator, Writer, Critic, Art Director, Designer, Editor-in-Chief) rather than a single prompt.
- Grounded Journalism: Every factual claim is backed by inline citations linking to sources.
- Flexible Model Support: Compatible with any model supported by LangChain's
init_chat_model. - Live Streaming: The web UI streams the newsroom's progress in real-time as agents work.
- Multilingual Support: Supports 17 languages, including right-to-left scripts.
- Professional Layouts: Offers multiple layout options (Classic, Digest, Front page) and PDF export.
