open-slide/open-slide

A slide framework built for agents.

What it solves

open-slide is a framework designed to let AI coding agents create professional presentation decks. It removes the boilerplate of canvas management, scaling, and navigation, allowing agents to focus on generating the actual content using React components instead of a restrictive domain-specific language.

How it works

The framework provides a fixed 1920x1080 canvas where slides are written as React components. It includes a CLI for scaffolding projects and a runtime that handles presentation mode, hot reloading, and deployment. To facilitate AI authoring, it provides specific "skills" (like /create-slide and /slide-authoring) that guide agents on how to structure decks and follow layout rules.

Who it’s for

Developers and presenters who use AI coding agents (such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex) to rapidly prototype and build high-quality, visual presentations.

Highlights

  • Agent-native authoring: Includes built-in skills and technical references to help agents draft decks end-to-end from natural language prompts.
  • In-browser inspector: Allows users to click elements to leave comments that an agent can later apply as code edits via /apply-comments.
  • Professional present mode: Features fullscreen playback, keyboard navigation, a presenter mode with speaker notes, and a timer.
  • Multi-format export: Supports exporting decks to static HTML, PDF, and editable PowerPoint (PPTX) files.
  • Asset management: Integrated assets panel and an SVGL logo search for easy inclusion of brand logos.
  • Deploy-friendly: Generates static builds for easy deployment to platforms like Vercel or Netlify.
