marswaveai/ColaMD
A free, elegant Markdown editor for macOS, Windows and Linux. Simple by design, always in sync with the file on disk.
What it solves
ColaMD is a lightweight Markdown editor designed to bridge the gap between human writers and AI agents. It solves the problem of static editors that don't reflect changes made by external AI tools (like Claude Code or Cursor) in real time, allowing users to see AI-generated edits as they happen.
How it works
The editor uses a live sync mechanism that monitors open .md files. When an AI agent edits a file, ColaMD automatically updates the view. It also includes an "Agent Activity Indicator" in the titlebar to notify the user when an agent is currently writing or has finished.
Who it’s for
It is for writers, developers, and anyone using AI agents to generate or refine documentation and notes who want a true WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) experience without needing to switch between a source editor and a preview pane.
Highlights
- Live Agent Sync: Real-time updates when AI agents edit files.
- True WYSIWYG: Direct rich-text editing without a split-pane preview.
- Agent Activity Indicator: Visual cues in the titlebar for AI activity.
- Export Options: Support for PDF, HTML, and Word exports, as well as image-based "reading pages."
- Cross-Platform: Available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Technical Support: Integrated support for LaTeX (KaTeX) and Mermaid diagrams.

markrahq/markraMarkra is an open‑source, local‑first Markdown editor that combines true WYSIWYG editing with built‑in AI assistance. Users can invoke LLMs (any OpenAI‑compatible or local model) to polish, rewrite, summarize, translate, or otherwise edit selected text or whole documents, with a preview step before changes are applied. The desktop app (Tauri) runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux; a web version mirrors the same features. Files stay as plain `.md` on disk, with optional WebDAV sync, image storage options, spellcheck, custom CSS themes, and export to HTML/PDF. Licensed under AGPL‑3.0 and community‑driven.
