Slides and demos for a training course on Claude Code

What it solves

Professional developers often face a steep learning curve when adopting Claude Code for real-world tasks. This course addresses that by teaching everything from creating a project from scratch to navigating complex codebases, generating tests and documentation, refactoring legacy code, and using advanced features like Plan Mode, subagents, skills, plugins, and hooks. It emphasizes safe experimentation through a branch-first workflow and shows how to extend Claude Code for specialized needs.

How it works

The repository contains a complete training kit: a Slidev presentation (slides.md), a progressive lab handout with six hands-on labs, an instructor guide, webinar variants, and a collection of example projects in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Java. Students (or instructors) can run the presentation locally with pnpm install and pnpm dev, or access a published version online and a current PDF via GitHub Releases. Labs start with basic interface and project exploration, then move through code exploration, test generation, documentation, legacy refactoring, and advanced workflows using skills and plugins. The skills are pre-built and can be copied into user or project scope, and a legacy command example is kept for comparison.

Who it's for

This is designed for professional developers who want to use Claude Code effectively in their daily work, whether they are new to AI-assisted development or looking to adopt advanced workflows. It also serves as a complete teaching resource for instructors, with an instructor guide that walks through demos using a Flask API as the primary example. Prerequisites include Claude Code installed and configured, a subscription or API key, and development environments for Python, JavaScript, and Java.
