Atoll92/agent-standup
Your Claude Code, Codex and Mistral Vibe sessions as a live, animated team call: who is working, who waits on whom, who needs you. VS Code extension, terminal command, desktop app. Runs locally, zero tokens.
Agent Standup – visual “stand‑up” for your AI coding agents
What it is – A free, open‑source VS Code (and desktop/terminal) extension that turns the session logs produced by Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Mistral Vibe and Claude Cowork into a live‑call‑style dashboard. It reads the local JSONL session files only; it never contacts the model unless you ask for on‑the‑fly translation or jokes.
Key capabilities
- Live call view – each agent appears as a cartoon character at a desk. The speaking agent is highlighted, and the call shows who is working, who is stuck, and who is waiting on you.
- Token accounting – a lightning‑bolt badge shows exact input + output + cache token usage per agent, directly from the session file.
- Tool‑call diagnostics – amber pulse for long‑running commands, sleep icon for quiet agents, red cross for failed tool calls, and repeat‑count badge for redundant work.
- Screen‑share of real output – when an agent runs a command, edits a file, searches, or drives a browser, the actual terminal output, diff, file content or screenshot is displayed on the shared screen.
- Sub‑agent hierarchy – the full tree (lead → sub‑agents → sub‑sub‑agents) is shown with status and tool counts.
- Replay & export – scrub any past session, generate a textual recap, export a 1280 × 720 MP4 video (or WebM fallback) with subtitles, or create a short 25‑second clip for sharing.
- Voice & lip‑sync – a tiny on‑device speech model reads each line; mouths move with the volume. Optional language support (French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese) translates text on the fly.
- Optional ambience – background office sounds, web radio, and occasional jokes can be toggled.
- Cross‑platform – works as a VS Code/Cursor/Windsurf extension, a standalone macOS app, or a one‑liner from any terminal (
npx @double_geste/agent-standup@latest --open).
Supported agents
- Claude Code (Anthropic)
- OpenAI Codex (desktop app /
codexCLI) - Mistral Vibe (
vibecommand) - Claude Cowork (local‑agent‑mode sessions)
Installation
- VS Code Marketplace:
DoubleGeste.agent-standup - Open VSX for VSCodium, Cursor, etc.
- macOS app download from the GitHub releases page.
- Terminal:
npx @double_geste/agent-standup@latest --open
Configuration
Environment variables or VS Code settings let you enable/disable each source (AGENT_STANDUP_CODEX, AGENT_STANDUP_VIBE, AGENT_STANDUP_COWORK), point to custom session directories, or turn off voice, translation, ambience, and video‑masking features.
Extras
- Built‑in demo session (fictional team fixing a slow login page) for first‑time users.
- Optional Halloween character pack (purely cosmetic, MIT‑licensed core remains free).
- Claude Code plugin (
/agent-standup:open,/agent-standup:status) and a tiny status‑band plugin that shows waiting agents above the prompt.
License – MIT (core code is free; optional artwork sold separately to support the artist).
Bottom line – Agent Standup gives developers a visual, animated “stand‑up meeting” of their AI coding agents, making it easy to spot bottlenecks, token waste, and tool failures without leaving the editor.
