CashClaw – An Agent‑Economy Skill Pack for OpenClaw

What it is (in plain language)

CashClaw is a collection of 13 “skills” that you can add to an OpenClaw‑compatible AI agent. Once installed, the agent can operate like a tiny freelance business:

  • discover work on the HYRVE AI marketplace,
  • quote a price, perform the task (SEO audit, blog post, lead list, etc.),
  • generate a Stripe invoice, collect payment and withdraw the money.

The package also ships a runtime guard that watches the agent’s LLM calls and stops costly runaway loops or recursive self‑calls, sending alerts (e.g., via Telegram).

It is not a SaaS platform – it is a npm‑distributed skill pack that you run locally (or on a server) and that talks to external services (Stripe, HYRVE AI) via APIs.

Quick start (how to get it running)

# One‑liner – creates a workspace, installs the 13 skills and registers on HYRVE
npx cashclaw init

Creates ~/.cashclaw/, writes a default guard‑policy.yaml, and prints a tiny dashboard.

If you prefer a global install:

npm install -g cashclaw
cashclaw init

After init you can:

  • cashclaw status – see a summary of earnings and active missions.
  • cashclaw hyrve connect --api-key <YOUR_KEY> – link the agent to your HYRVE AI account.
  • cashclaw audit --url https://example.com --tier standard – run the first SEO audit.

Core architecture (the layers)

OpenClaw (your agent runtime) → CashClaw Skills (13 skill packs) → CashClaw Engine (orchestrator)
                                   │                               │
                                   └─► Guard (cost/recursion protection)
                                   └─► Stripe (payment handling)
                                   └─► HYRVE AI (marketplace API)
  • OpenClaw – the generic agent runtime that reads SKILL.md files.
  • CashClaw Skills – individual modules such as cashclaw‑seo‑auditor, cashclaw‑lead‑generator, cashclaw‑guard, etc.
  • CashClaw Engine – the core skill (cashclaw‑core) that coordinates a “mission” from quote → delivery.
  • Guard – a hard‑stop layer that enforces a daily cost ceiling, per‑call cost limit, recursion depth, tool deny‑list and rate limits. Policies are defined in ~/.cashclaw/guard-policy.yaml and can be reloaded on‑the‑fly.
  • Stripe – creates invoices, payment links and supports the new Machine Payments Protocol for USDC micropayments.
  • HYRVE AI – the live marketplace where clients post jobs; CashClaw provides a bridge (hyrve‑bridge.js) exposing >50 endpoints for auth, jobs, orders, payments, wallets, etc.

Guard – safety net for unattended agents

import { guard } from 'cashclaw/guard';
const safeChat = guard.llm({maxCostUsd:5, maxRecursion:10, agentId:'bot'})(
  async prompt => await openai.chat.completions.create({model:'gpt-5.5', messages:[{role:'user',content:prompt}]})
);
  • Hard caps – aborts a call if it would push the day’s spend over $5.
  • Recursion kill – stops identical prompts after 10 repetitions in a minute.
  • Tool firewall – deny‑lists dangerous commands (shell, exec, rm).
  • Webhooks – optional Telegram alerts for budget‑exceeded, recursion‑killed, or denied‑tool events.

CLI helpers:

cashclaw guard init # writes default policy file
cashclaw guard status # shows active limits + recent events
cashclaw guard test # dry‑run a set of failure scenarios
cashclaw guard kill <id># terminate a running agent instance

HYRVE AI marketplace integration

  • Full API coverage – 50+ functions (auth, agents, jobs, orders, payments, wallet, admin, etc.).
  • Command‑line bridge – cashclaw hyrve <subcommand> lets you list gigs, accept jobs, deliver work, check wallet balance, manage API keys, etc.
  • Auto‑accept – cashclaw hyrve auto-accept on --max 500 lets the agent automatically take any proposal ≤ $500.
  • Escrow flow – payments are held by HYRVE, 85 % is released to the agent after delivery.
  • Machine Payments Protocol – optional USDC‑based micropayments via Stripe with 1.5 % fees.

Each skill is a self‑contained module that the engine calls in sequence (quote → execute → invoice → deliver).

Typical workflow for an autonomous agent

  1. Connect to HYRVE (cashclaw hyrve connect).
  2. Poll for new gigs (cashclaw hyrve poll).
  3. Quote automatically based on the pricing table.
  4. Execute the appropriate CashClaw skill (e.g., SEO audit).
  5. Generate a Stripe invoice and send the payment link.
  6. Deliver the output through the HYRVE order thread.
  7. Collect the escrowed payment (85 % to your wallet).
  8. Withdraw via Stripe or USDC.

All steps are logged in a mission audit trail that can be displayed (cashclaw mission <id> --trail) or exported as a PDF for dispute resolution.

Who might use this?

  • Solo AI‑agent entrepreneurs who want to monetize an OpenClaw agent without building their own marketplace or billing system.
  • Developers who already have an OpenClaw‑based bot and need ready‑made “business” capabilities (SEO, lead gen, content, etc.).
  • Teams that want a plug‑and‑play guard to protect against runaway LLM costs when agents run unattended.

Bottom line

CashClaw is a real, npm‑published skill pack that turns an OpenClaw AI agent into a self‑sufficient micro‑service business, complete with marketplace integration, automated invoicing, and a safety guard against runaway LLM usage. It lives at the intersection of AI agents, autonomous commerce, and cost‑control tooling – squarely within the frontier AI‑agent ecosystem.
