aipoch/medical-research-skills

Hundreds of agent skills for medical research, including protocol design, data analysis, evidence insights, and academic writing.

What it solves

This project provides a comprehensive library of over 550 specialized skills designed to transform AI agents into capable medical research assistants. It addresses the complexity of the medical research workflow by providing pre-defined capabilities for evidence discovery, study design, bioinformatics analysis, clinical statistics, and academic writing, ensuring these tasks are grounded in medical research standards.

How it works

The library consists of a curated collection of skills compatible with SKILL.md platforms (such as Claude Code, OpenClaw, and Hermes Agent). These skills are developed in-house and vetted through a domain-specific audit framework called MedSkillAudit to ensure quality and reliability. The skills are organized into core research stages:

  • Evidence Insights: Tools for search strategy design, literature synthesis, and gap identification.
  • Protocol Design: Tools for hypothesis generation, sample size calculation, and disease-specific study planners.
  • Data Analysis: Bioinformatics pipelines (scRNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq), clinical statistics (survival analysis, meta-analysis), and cheminformatics.
  • Academic Writing: Assistance with SCI manuscript drafting, reporting guideline compliance (CONSORT/PRISMA), and peer review responses.

Who it’s for

Medical and biomedical researchers who use AI agents to accelerate their research pipeline, from initial literature review to final publication and grant application.

Highlights

  • Massive Skill Set: Over 550 vetted medical research skills.
  • Broad Coverage: Spans the entire research lifecycle, including omics, drug discovery, and clinical trial design.
  • Standardized: Built for compatibility with multiple agent platforms using the SKILL.md format.
  • Quality Assured: Every skill is evaluated via the MedSkillAudit framework.
  • Publication Ready: Includes specific tools for SCI-indexed journal requirements and reporting guidelines.
