LeonChaoX/qinyan-academic-skills

A curated, multilingual library of 182 installable AI agent skills for end-to-end academic research—spanning literature discovery, scientific writing, grant development, bioinformatics, drug discovery, clinical research, machine learning, and data analysis.

What it solves

This project provides a comprehensive library of 187 installable AI agent skills designed to streamline academic research and scientific writing. It addresses the difficulty of configuring AI agents to perform specialized research tasks—such as literature discovery, statistical reporting, and manuscript polishing—by providing pre-defined, reusable capabilities that can be integrated into various AI coding and research agents.

How it works

The project consists of a collection of plain-text skill definitions that can be installed via a Bash script into the skills directory of supported AI agents. Users can choose to install the entire library, specific categories, or individual skills. These skills are portable across multiple agents, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenClaw, and OpenCode.

Who it’s for

Academic researchers, scientists, and students who use AI agents to assist with literature reviews, data analysis, manuscript drafting, and the preparation of submission-ready scientific papers.

Highlights

  • Nature-style Writing Suite: A specialized five-skill workflow for evidence-led drafting, polishing, pre-submission review, reproducible figures, and statistical reporting.
  • Broad Research Coverage: 187 skills across 18 domains, including bioinformatics, cheminformatics, clinical medicine, and materials science.
  • Agent Portability: A single installer compatible with six different AI agent environments.
  • Lifecycle Management: Built-in CLI tools to search, inspect, update, and manage installed skills.
  • Selective Installation: Support for global or project-specific installation to keep research environments isolated.
