What it solves

Chops eliminates the need to manually hunt through hidden dotfiles and directories to manage AI coding agent skills and agents. It provides a centralized macOS interface to discover, organize, and edit these configurations across multiple different AI tools.

How it works

The app scans specific filesystem paths associated with various AI tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf) to identify skill and agent files. It uses a real-time file watcher (FSEvents) to detect disk changes instantly and a built-in monospaced editor for direct modification of files. It also supports connecting to remote servers (like OpenClaw or Hermes) and browsing the skills.sh registry to install new capabilities.
