How it works

EnvKit runs as a desktop tray application that manages child processes for various services. It provides one-click installations for nginx, Apache, PHP (multiple versions), MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Python. It automatically handles .test domain mapping in the hosts file and manages trusted local HTTPS certificates via a local CA. It also includes a built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, allowing AI assistants (such as Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf) to programmatically control the stack, manage sites, and diagnose services.
