Codename-11/hermes-relay

Hermes-Relay — Your Hermes AI agent, in your pocket — chat, voice, and control.

What it solves

Hermes-Relay provides a way to access and control your self-hosted Hermes agent from mobile devices and other computers. It bridges the gap between a server-side AI agent and the hardware you carry, allowing you to interact with the agent via chat, voice, and direct system control on Android and desktop environments.

How it works

The system uses a multi-route connection architecture. The Android app and Desktop CLI connect to a central Hermes Dashboard/Gateway for standard chat and management, while an optional Relay plugin (running on port 8767) enables advanced features like terminal access, machine tools, and enhanced voice. Connections are secured via QR pairing, Android Keystore, and optional VPNs like Tailscale for remote access.

Who it’s for

Users who have a self-hosted Hermes agent and want a native mobile experience, hands-free voice interaction, or the ability for their AI agent to execute tools and commands on their local machines (Windows, Linux, macOS).

Highlights

  • Native Android App: Features streaming chat, a native dashboard for managing models and skills, and hands-free voice.
  • Device Control: Sideloaded Android builds allow the agent to read the screen, type, swipe, and manage notifications.
  • Desktop CLI: A single binary that grants the agent access to local files, the terminal, and screenshots on paired computers.
  • Remote Access: Built-in support for LAN and Tailscale routing to ensure the agent remains reachable away from home.
  • Multi-Connection: Ability to pair multiple Hermes servers and switch between profiles and models in one tap.
