OpenAI has announced its first developer conference, OpenAI DevDay, taking place on November 6, 2023, in San Francisco. The event is designed to bring together hundreds of developers to preview new tools and exchange ideas with the OpenAI team.

OpenAI DevDay is a one-day event featuring a keynote address and technical breakout sessions. While in-person attendance is limited to hundreds of developers in San Francisco, the keynote will be livestreamed globally to ensure accessibility for developers everywhere.

Developer Ecosystem Growth

Since the launch of its API in 2020, OpenAI has expanded its platform to include advanced models such as GPT-4, GPT-3.5, DALL·E, and Whisper. According to OpenAI, over 2 million developers are currently utilizing these models for various applications, including the integration of smart assistants and the creation of entirely new services.

Objectives of DevDay

The primary goal of the conference is to provide developers with the tools necessary to build new applications. As stated by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman:
