OpenAI has established the Strategic Futures team and its accompanying blog, AI Futures, to investigate how free societies can be restructured to preserve individual rights and human agency as transformative AI emerges. The team's primary objective is to address the "concentration of power" risks, which they identify as the most serious and conceptually challenging category of risk associated with advanced AI.
