OpenAI and Oracle have announced an expanded partnership designed to integrate Oracle’s enterprise applications and data directly into the ChatGPT environment. This collaboration aims to create an "agent-ready enterprise" where users can execute business workflows, access data, and manage operations through a unified interface governed by existing organizational permissions.

Integration: Oracle AI Workspace

Oracle is developing "Oracle AI Workspace" to bridge the gap between ChatGPT and its suite of business applications. This integration is intended to allow users to perform complex tasks—such as investigating financial costs or managing procurement workflows—by describing their needs in natural language within ChatGPT. The system is designed to pull information from across finance, planning, and procurement applications while maintaining strict adherence to an organization's internal access controls and approval processes.

New AI-Powered Oracle Offerings

Beyond the ChatGPT integration, Oracle is launching several new products built on OpenAI models and tools:

  • Oracle AI Security Mesh: This tool utilizes OpenAI’s cyber models to assist customers in identifying and remediating vulnerabilities within their applications and infrastructure. Oracle provides the testing infrastructure to ensure these operations remain within authorized scopes.
  • Oracle AI SMB Bundle: Designed for small businesses, this package combines ChatGPT Business and Codex with Oracle applications and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) credits to support product development and operational management.
  • Oracle App Composer: This offering enables teams to build custom applications using Codex and other AI tools. It facilitates connecting these apps to Oracle data and workflows, with deployment managed on OCI and integrated with existing company security and permission frameworks.

Procurement and Deployment

Oracle customers in the United States can now procure access to OpenAI’s API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work directly through the Oracle Marketplace. This integration allows organizations to utilize existing procurement processes and eligible Oracle Universal Credits to scale their AI adoption. This expansion builds upon an established commercial relationship that currently supports 130,000 active ChatGPT users and over 95,000 active Codex users within the Oracle ecosystem.
