OpenAI and Snowflake have entered a $200 million partnership to integrate OpenAI's frontier intelligence directly into the Snowflake platform. Snowflake customers can now leverage OpenAI models, specifically mentioning GPT-5.2, to build custom applications and agents. This integration is delivered through several key Snowflake features:

Snowflake Cortex AI

Cortex AI allows organizations to build agents grounded in their enterprise data. Additionally, Snowflake Cortex AI Functions enable teams to call OpenAI models directly from SQL, allowing for the analysis of structured data (rows and columns) as well as unstructured data, including text, images, and audio.

Snowflake Intelligence

Snowflake Intelligence enables employees to query business data using natural language. The system automatically handles the retrieval and analysis of data without requiring the user to write code, making data-driven insights accessible to non-technical staff.
