What it is

This repo is a living index (a continuously updated list) of AI services that cost $0 to use. It's aimed at developers, researchers, and curious builders who want to try AI models without paying or creating accounts. The project is open to contributions — anyone can submit a new service or fix outdated info via an issue or pull request.

The list is also published as a website at nocostai.vercel.app, with a focus on tools that need no signup.

How the list is organized

The README splits every service into two big sections:

  • No Signup Required — tools you can use immediately (chat, media generation, voice/music, developer APIs).
  • Signup Required — tools that need an account, but still have a free tier.

Within each section, entries are grouped by:

  • 💬 Chat interfaces (e.g., lmarena.ai, t3.chat, perplexity.ai, grok.com)
  • 🎞️ Media generation — image/video/multimodal tools (e.g., pollinations.ai, runwayml.com, fotor.com)
  • 🗣️ Voice & music — text-to-speech and music generators (e.g., ttsmp3.com, fakeyou.com)
  • 🖥️ AI IDEs — coding assistants (e.g., Rovo Dev Agents, kiro.dev)

Each entry lists what free models are available and any usage limits (like "5–10 messages per day" for ChatGPT's free tier, "3 messages every 2 hours" for Grok, "50 credits per day" for Suno, etc.). Some entries note caveats, like sharedchat.cn being "hard to get a response" due to demand, or freegpt.es being removed because it was unreachable.

Leaderboards

The repo also links to external AI model ranking sites (OpenRouter rankings, Hugging Face's Open LLM Leaderboard, Chatbot Arena, MTEB, etc.) so users can compare model quality beyond just the free listings.

Safety warning (important)

The README includes a prominent warning: use these services at your own risk. Anything you type (prompts, files, personal details) may be logged, stored, or shared. Free services can disappear, rate-limit, or change their models without notice — so the maintainer advises not relying on them for production work, academic citations, or long-term storage. The maintainer has no affiliation with the listed sites and can't guarantee their safety, legality, quality, or availability.
