search every screenshot you've ever taken by the text inside it. native linux, offline, PaddleOCR + sqlite + gpui
What it solves
It addresses the difficulty of finding specific information buried within thousands of screenshots. By automatically indexing the text content of your screenshots, it allows you to search for them using keywords, dates, or folder locations, effectively turning your screenshot collection into a searchable database.
How it works
It runs entirely offline on your local machine. It monitors your designated screenshot folders and uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) models—specifically PaddleOCR via ONNX Runtime—to extract text from images. This text is then indexed using SQLite FTS5 for fast, typo-tolerant retrieval. When you trigger the search interface, you can type queries to instantly find and highlight matching screenshots.
Who it’s for
It is designed for Linux, macOS, and Windows users who frequently take screenshots and need a fast, private, and efficient way to retrieve information from them without relying on cloud-based services.
