👩🚒 Good content deserves good paper. Layout rules and templates that let AI agents export PDF, PNG and editable PowerPoint.
Kami – AI‑powered document design skill
What it is – Kami is a plug‑in/skill for AI agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.) that turns natural language requests into nicely‑styled PDFs, PNGs, or editable PowerPoint files. It ships with eight built‑in templates (one‑pager, resume, letter, portfolio, slides, equity report, changelog, landing page) and supports English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
How it works – The skill lives in the agent’s ~/.agents/skills folder. When you ask the agent something like “make a one‑pager for my startup” it automatically triggers Kami, which:
- Parses the request into a structured brief (audience, purpose, tone, etc.).
- Fills a HTML template with your content.
- Renders the HTML to PDF with WeasyPrint, or to PPTX via python‑pptx, or to a Marp‑style Markdown deck.
- Optionally adds inline SVG diagrams generated from Mermaid text, re‑themed to Kami’s warm parchment palette.
- Returns the final file to you.
Key features
- Multi‑language support – Complete layouts for English and Chinese; font fall‑backs for Japanese/Korean.
- Eight ready‑made templates plus a landing‑page system.
- Diagram integration – Mermaid → SVG → PDF‑safe.
- Brand profile – A
~/.config/kami/brand.mdfile lets you store default fonts, colors, page size, tone, etc., so you don’t repeat preferences. - Zero‑dependency MCP server – A tiny local HTTP server (
mcp_server.py) lets any MCP‑capable agent drive Kami without loading the whole skill prompt. - Font handling – Scripts automatically install missing CJK fonts; fonts are bundled for offline use.
- Version checking – Daily silent check against the latest GitHub release.
Installation
# generic agent install (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, …)
npx skills add tw93/kami -a claude-code codex cursor -g -y
Or use the host‑specific plugin commands shown in the README, or download the pre‑built kami.zip for Claude Desktop.
Usage – No slash command is needed; just speak naturally in the supported language. Example prompts:
- English:
make a resume for me - 中文:
帮我做一份一页纸 - 日本語:
スタートアップ向けの一枚資料を作って - 한국어:
이력서를 만들어줘
Design philosophy – Warm parchment background (#f5f4ed), ink‑blue accents, serif typography, generous whitespace. All templates follow the same visual rhythm, making technical output both rigorous and visually appealing.
License – MIT for code and templates. CJK fonts have their own licenses (personal‑use only for TsangerJinKai02, OFL for others).
Where to find more – Full spec in design.md, cheat‑sheet in CHEATSHEET.md, and a live showcase at https://kami.tw93.fun.
