SuperPlane – Open‑source factory for one‑shot engineering

What it is – SuperPlane is a platform that lets AI‑powered coding agents take a backlog issue, run through a configurable workflow, and emit a ready‑to‑review pull request. It strings together agents, source‑control, CI, observability and incident tools so the whole automation is visible, repeatable and recoverable.

How it works

• Factory – a container for work orders, automation lines and team policies.
• Work order – a durable record of a single delegated task from intake to outcome.
• Line – an ordered list of stages (automations) that process a work order.
• Automation – runs an AI agent, calls an external tool, waits for an event, or pauses for human approval via a Canvas‑backed UI.
• Run – tracks inputs, outputs, retries, cost and execution state for each automation step, preserving history so failed runs can resume.
