Wearable (BLE) Brain-Computer Interface, ADS1299 and STM32 with SDK for mobile application

What it solves

ironbci provides a low-cost, open-source platform for brain-computer interface (BCI) prototyping. It removes the expensive barriers to entry for neurotechnology by providing integrated hardware and software tools to capture brain activity.

How it works

The system consists of a wearable device with 8 channels that supports both dry and wet electrodes. It transmits brainwave data via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) at a sampling rate of 250 samples per second. The project includes a mobile app (Android SDK) and a Python SDK to allow developers to process and program the BCI interface.

Who it’s for

Researchers, developers, and neurotech hobbyists who need an affordable way to record EEG data and build BCI applications.

Highlights

  • 8-Channel Support: Captures data from multiple points on the scalp.
  • Dual Electrode Compatibility: Works with both dry Ag/AgCl electrodes (no gel required) and wet electrodes.
  • Cross-Platform SDKs: Includes dedicated software kits for both Python and Android.
  • BLE Connectivity: Uses Bluetooth Low Energy for wireless, wearable operation.
