netdata/netdata
The fastest path to AI-powered full stack observability, even for lean teams.
What it solves
Netdata provides real-time, high-resolution infrastructure monitoring. It eliminates the need for complex configuration and expensive, low-resolution monitoring tools by providing per-second metrics and visualizations across servers, containers, and cloud environments.
How it works
The platform uses a modular pipeline centered around the Netdata Agent. The agent collects metrics from systems, containers, apps, and logs, stores them in a high-efficiency time-series database, and uses edge-based machine learning to train models per metric to detect anomalies. Data can be streamed to "Parent" nodes for centralization and long-term retention or exported to other databases like Prometheus.
Who it’s for
It is designed for system administrators, DevOps engineers, and SREs who need deep, instant visibility into their infrastructure performance and health without the overhead of manual setup or query languages.
Highlights
- Zero-Configuration: Automatically discovers and monitors everything on the nodes it runs on.
- ML-Powered: Uses unsupervised anomaly detection trained at the edge to predict issues.
- Per-Second Resolution: Provides real-time data collection and processing with 1-second latency.
- Energy Efficient: Recognized as a highly efficient tool for monitoring Docker-based systems in terms of CPU and RAM usage.
- Broad Compatibility: Supports Linux, macOS, FreeBSD, and Windows across a wide range of hardware and applications.
