One command. Your entire AI skill stack. Installed.

autoskills — One command to install AI skills for your tech stack

What it does

autoskills is a command-line tool that looks at your project, figures out which technologies you use (React? Go? Stripe? etc.), and automatically installs the right AI agent skills — pre-built instruction packages that help AI coding assistants work better with those technologies. You run one command and get the entire relevant skill set installed.

How it works

  1. You run npx autoskills in your project's root folder.
  2. The tool scans your package.json, Gradle files, and other config files to detect your tech stack.
  3. It picks the best-matching skills from the autoskills registry (a curated, audited collection).
  4. It downloads only the needed skill files, verifies them, and writes them to your project.

No configuration needed — it just works.

Security model

The tool deliberately avoids pulling files live from random third-party repositories at install time. Instead:

  • Maintainers sync skills into a local registry inside the repository.
  • Every change is reviewed by AI for prompt-injection and supply-chain attacks (a fast model triages everything; a stronger model decides on anything suspicious).
  • Each skill file is recorded with a SHA-256 hash in a manifest.
  • Skills that are safe but deserve a heads-up get a security warning before installation.

When you run it, the CLI downloads only what your project needs from that curated registry, checks every file against the manifest's hashes, and writes a skills-lock.json entry with the installed source and bundle hash. This keeps the package small and avoids live third-party downloads during setup.

Command-line options

Flag What it does
