mfranzon/print3d
Print 3D skill from text to 3D printing using Bambu Lab slicer.
What it solves
Designing a 3D-printable part usually requires CAD experience or careful manual modeling. print3d lets you describe a part in plain words, show a photo of an existing object, or paste a link to a product you might buy, and it produces a Bambu Studio project you can print. It also checks the model against measurements and your own printer clearances.
How it works
The agent (Hermes or another supported tool) writes a Blender script that builds the 3D shape. print3d runs that script, checks the resulting mesh for problems, slices it with Bambu Studio, and reports any issues back to the agent. The agent fixes the script and repeats until everything passes, then hands you a .3mf file to open in Bambu Studio and print. The workflow is: idea -> Blender script -> mesh -> checks -> slice -> .3mf.
Who it's for
People who want to make custom 3D-printable parts without learning CAD: hobbyists, makers, even those who want to replace a broken or bought item. It works with Hermes Agent, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Gemini CLI. You need Blender 4.2+, Bambu Studio, and uv installed on the same machine.
Highlights
- Turn a photo or shop listing into a measured, printable model: scale from a known object (like a bank card or ruler), measure dimensions, and check likeness against the photo.
- Multi-part designs: many parts with different colors, fits, and orientation, with interference and buried-color checks.
- Fit calibration: print a coupon to measure your printer's clearances and use those in designs.
- A 3D viewer (view.html) to rotate, zoom, hide parts, and measure distances.
- Works with multiple agents and has a command-line interface for scripting.
