meodai/skill.color-expert
Agent skill for color science expertise. Many references covering color spaces, accessibility (APCA, WCAG), palette generation, pigment mixing, and historical color theory. Works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot & others.
What it solves
This project provides a comprehensive knowledge base and "skill" for AI coding agents, transforming them into experts in color science. It solves the problem of AI agents lacking deep, accurate, and specialized knowledge about color theory, color spaces, and the practical application of color in design and coding.
How it works
The project is structured as a multi-layered knowledge base that an AI agent can load and reference:
Immediate Access: A
SKILL.mdfile containing the "greatest hits" of color science—key facts, guidelines, and tool recommendations—is loaded upon activation.Structured Lookup: A
references/INDEX.mdfile acts as a master lookup table, allowing the agent to scan for specific topics.Deep Reference Material: A collection of 144 markdown files containing transcribed video transcripts, article summaries, research notes, and scraped website content (approximately 286,000 words).
Evaluation: A lightweight
evals/folder provides trigger and task prompts to ensure the agent's responses are based on the same high-quality data.
Who it’s for
Developers, designers, and AI agent users who need their coding agents to provide expert-level advice on color spaces (like OKLCH/OKLAB), palette generation, accessibility (WCAG/APCA), and historical color science.
Highlights
- Massive Knowledge Base: Includes 144 reference files covering historical, contemporary, and practical techniques.
- Diverse Source Material: Content is derived from transcribed YouTube videos, converted PDFs, scraped websites, and research papers.
- Curation of Tools: Catalogues 48 online tools and various color libraries (e.g., Culori, Color.js).
- Detailed Theory: Covers everything from 19th-century physiological optics to modern perceptual color spaces and bird tetrachromacy.
- Opinionated Guidance: Provides specific, research-backed opinions on why to use OKLCH over HSL and the pitfalls of common color harmony heuristics.
