What it solves

CrossPet brings AI agents to life on your desktop, providing visual feedback and status tracking for various AI coding tools and assistants. It eliminates the need to constantly check terminal windows or browser tabs to see if an AI is actively working, thinking, or waiting for your input.

How it works

CrossPet runs as a lightweight desktop companion that monitors your AI tools (such as Claude Code, DeepSeek Harness, or Codex). It automatically switches its character appearance to match the specific AI you are currently using. When the AI performs tasks—like reading files, running commands, or searching the web—the pet displays corresponding animations and status cards. It also tracks usage quotas and balances, and can even "sleep" or "hide" when you are not using your AI tools to stay out of your way.
