Lobe CLI Toolbox

A small collection of command‑line utilities that tap into large language models (via OpenAI’s ChatGPT) to automate everyday developer tasks.

Tool What it does AI used
Lobe Commit Generates Git commit messages with appropriate Gitmoji emojis. Calls ChatGPT through LangChain to suggest concise, emoji‑rich messages.
Lobe i18n Translates project files for internationalisation, handling large files, incremental updates and custom model settings. Sends source strings to ChatGPT for translation.
Lobe label Copies issue labels from a template repository to the current repo. No LLM – simple automation.

Why it matters

  • Speed up routine work – no need to write commit messages or translate strings manually.
  • Consistent style – Gitmoji conventions are enforced automatically.
  • Customisable – you can pick the OpenAI model, set a proxy, adjust temperature, or limit the amount of text sent.

Installation (quick start)

# clone the repo
git clone https://github.com/lobehub/lobe-cli-toolbox.git
cd lobe-cli-toolbox

# install dependencies (uses bun for fast installs)
bun install

Each tool is also published on npm, so you can install them globally:

npm i -g @lobehub/commit-cli   # Lobe Commit

npm i -g @lobehub/label-cli    # Lobe label

Basic usage examples

Generate a commit message:

lobe-commit "feat: add user login"
# → "🚀 feat: add user login – Implemented OAuth flow"

Translate a JSON locale file:

lobe-i18n translate ./locales/en.json --target zh-CN

Copy labels from a template repo:

lobe-label --template https://github.com/owner/template-repo

Ecosystem

The toolbox ships a few shared packages:

  • @lobehub/cli-ui – UI components for building interactive CLIs (Ink‑based).
  • @lobehub/cli-shebang – Helper for creating executable Node scripts with proper shebang handling.
