Conduit — native SwiftUI iOS client for Hermes Agent

What it solves

Hermes Conduit acts as a native mobile interface for your self-hosted Hermes Agent instances. It allows you to access your existing AI agent sessions, profiles, and dashboard capabilities directly from your iPhone or iPad without relying on third-party cloud services or middleman relays.

How it works

The app connects directly to your Hermes dashboard via WebSockets (typically on port 9119). It mirrors the desktop experience by syncing your database, allowing you to start conversations on your computer and continue them on your mobile device. It supports native OAuth, Cloudflare Access, and provides an optional, end-to-end encrypted relay service specifically for push notifications, which are otherwise difficult to maintain on iOS due to background connection restrictions.

Who it’s for

This project is for users who already run a Hermes Agent instance and want a high-quality, privacy-focused native iOS client to manage their agents, monitor logs, and engage in voice or text conversations while on the go.

Highlights

  • Full Feature Parity: Supports streaming chat with Markdown, tool call inspection, reasoning traces, and file attachments.
  • Advanced Voice Capabilities: Includes push-to-talk, support for GPT-Live and Gemini Live, and CarPlay integration.
  • Privacy-First: No analytics, no telemetry, and no data storage on third-party servers; all communication is direct between your device and your server.
  • Secure Access: Features Face ID locking, Keychain credential storage, and support for Tailscale or reverse-proxied connections.
  • Notification Security: Uses an optional, end-to-end encrypted relay for push notifications so that even the relay service cannot read your message content.
