Lightweight Windows tray app that monitors your Claude rate limits in real time - portable single EXE, zero configuration, fully auditable
What it solves
Usage Monitor for Claude is a system tray application that allows users to track their Claude rate limits in real time. It solves the problem of not knowing how much of your session and weekly quotas (for models like Sonnet, Opus, and Fable) are remaining across various interfaces, including claude.ai, Claude Code, and IDE extensions for VS Code and JetBrains.
How it works
The app authenticates using the existing Claude Code login (OAuth token) stored locally. It polls the Anthropic API to retrieve current usage data and displays it via a native tray icon with progress bars and a detailed popup. It includes adaptive polling to save resources, automatic token refresh via claude update, and support for multiple accounts by launching separate instances with different configuration directories.
Who it’s for
Users with a Claude subscription (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise) who use Claude Code or other Claude-integrated IDE extensions and want to avoid hitting rate limits unexpectedly during their workflow.
Highlights
- Zero Configuration: Authenticates automatically through Claude Code login without requiring manual API keys.
