How it works

The server acts as a bridge between an AI client and an Odoo instance. It connects via API keys or username/password authentication and supports two primary modes of operation:

  • Standard Mode: Requires the installation of a dedicated Odoo MCP module on the Odoo server for production-grade security and fine-grained access control over which models are accessible.
  • YOLO Mode: A development/testing mode that connects directly to Odoo's XML-RPC or JSON-2 APIs, bypassing the MCP module and security controls for quick prototyping.

It supports multiple transport protocols, including stdio for desktop apps and streamable-http for remote connectivity.
