iterative-computer/powermove
A video editor that rewrites itself. Ask, and it writes the next version of itself, in place, undoably.
What it solves
Powermove is a video editor for macOS that allows users to customize the software's own functionality in real-time. Instead of relying on a fixed set of tools, users can request new panels, effects, and workflows to be created and integrated directly into the running application.
How it works
The application uses a tiny core kernel with almost all functionality—including the timeline and UI—implemented as extensions. An AI agent (via Codex CLI or Claude Code) writes these extensions using a typed, undoable tool layer. This allows the agent to inspect, render, and edit the live project transactionally, meaning any AI-generated changes can be steered or undone.
Who it’s for
Video editors on macOS (Apple Silicon) who want a highly flexible, agent-driven editing environment that evolves based on their specific project needs.
Highlights
- Agent-driven extensibility: Use an AI agent to add or fork panels and effects on the fly.
- Live updates: Load new extensions into the running app without restarting.
- ** gesture-based steering**: Ability to steer the agent if the generated tool is incorrect.
- Undoable changes: Every modification made by the agent is undoable.
- Native macOS integration: Includes native macOS alignment-haptics.
