Docs of the Hugging Face Hub
What it solves
This repository is the official source for the documentation shown on the Hugging Face Hub website. It solves the need to store, edit, and review website content (written in Markdown) in a structured way before it goes live.
How it works
The site pulls its documentation content from the docs folder, which is full of Markdown files. To make a change, you simply edit these files, commit your changes, and open a pull request. An automated bot then builds a preview page for you, giving you a direct URL to check how your edits look before they are merged. For quick edits, you do not need to set up a local development environment. If you prefer testing locally, you can install the hf-doc-builder package and use the doc-builder preview command to render the site on your own machine.
Who it's for
It is for anyone reading or contributing to the Hugging Face Hub documentation. That includes developers who use the Hub, community members who want to improve the docs, and technical writers maintaining content accuracy.
Highlights
- Simple contributions require almost no setup: just edit a Markdown file and open a pull request.
- An automated bot builds a preview URL for every pull request, so you can see exactly what the site will look like.
- No local environment is needed for basic edits, lowering the barrier to contribution.
- For deeper work, the official
doc-buildertool provides a local preview command. - The repository references the companion
huggingface.jspackages for interactive Hub utilities, Inference, and Tasks, which link to those related tools.
