What it solves

CodexIsland provides a persistent, non-intrusive way for macOS users to monitor their AI usage limits for Claude Code and Codex. Instead of manually checking provider dashboards, users can see their 5-hour and weekly quotas at a glance via a native overlay that integrates with the MacBook notch.

How it works

The app acts as a native macOS overlay that reads existing authentication credentials from Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Codex local files or the macOS Keychain. It then polls the providers' own usage endpoints to fetch current quota data.

It presents this information through a "Dynamic Island" style interface: a compact pill over the notch that expands on click to show detailed usage, cost estimates based on local session logs, and a year-at-a-glance activity calendar.
