cporter202/lovable-for-beginners
Your complete beginner’s course to mastering Lovable Vibe Coding. This repo is a step-by-step learning hub designed to take absolute beginners and turn them into confident Lovable developers.
What it is
Lovable for Beginners is a free, self-paced course (15 modules) that teaches the complete workflow for building a real web application using Lovable, an AI tool that turns natural-language prompts into deployed apps. The course goes beyond simple prototyping and covers the parts most tutorials skip: planning, data security, testing, deployment, and team collaboration.
What you will be able to do
- Direct Lovable to build interfaces and features using clear prompts, Plan/Build modes, and references
- Add real product capabilities: database, user authentication, file storage, server functions, payments, AI features, and third-party integrations
- Protect user data with row-level security (RLS) and keep secrets server-side
- Prove your app works via browser testing and backend tests
- Ship it: publish snapshots, connect a domain, improve SEO, review analytics, monitor releases
- Own the code: sync with GitHub or GitLab, use branches and pull requests, run CI, even host externally
Structure
Phase 1 — Foundations (Modules 1–5): Setting up your first project, understanding Lovable's two modes (Plan and Build), prompting reliably, and iterating with feedback.
Phase 2 — Full-stack delivery (Modules 6–10): Adding database, auth, storage, and security; inspecting and editing code; publishing and operating the app; and a debugging/testing/security module.
Phase 3 — Advanced practice (Modules 11–15): Advanced prompt patterns, performance and SEO, complex API integrations (OAuth, webhooks), Git collaboration, and external hosting choices.
Capstone project — Book Club Hub (Module 9): A complete multi-user app with email/Google login, private clubs, roles, invitations, books, notes, database/storage/edge functions, tested row-level security, security scans, and production publishing — built milestone by milestone.
Who it's for
- First-time app builders who want a guided path
- Founders turning an idea into a usable product
- Designers, marketers, educators, and operations teams
- Developers collaborating with non-developers
- Teams evaluating Lovable for real production work
No coding experience required for Modules 1–6. Later modules introduce code, APIs, Git, and infrastructure in plain language.
How to start
- Open Lovable and create a free account
- Start with Module 1 (build a practice reading-list project)
- Keep the Quick Reference cheat sheet open while building
- Complete Modules 1–10 in order, then pick advanced modules as needed
Extra materials
- Quick Reference (prompt templates, checklists)

Caveats
- Some sign-up links are affiliate links (the author may earn a commission; no extra cost to you)
- The course is independent and not official Lovable documentation
- Lovable changes quickly, so the course intentionally links to official docs for time-sensitive details
- The author invites contributions (issues/PRs) when workflows change or links break
