chatmcp/mcpso

directory for Awesome MCP Servers

What it solves

Finding reliable MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers is scattered across forums, repos, and word-of-mouth. This project provides a single, searchable directory where developers can discover community-vetted MCP servers, so they can quickly pick one for their AI tooling without hunting.

How it works

MCP Directory is a web app built with Next.js and backed by a Supabase database. You clone the repo, install dependencies with pnpm, run a SQL script to set up the database tables, and configure environment variables with your Supabase URL and key. The dev server spins up on localhost:3000, where the directory renders a list of MCP servers. The live site at mcp.so already showcases the current collection.

Who it’s for

Developers and teams building with MCP servers who want a curated catalog to browse or contribute to. It’s also for anyone who wants to self-host their own directory of MCP tools for internal or public use.
