What it solves

Instead of writing complex, one-off prompts for every task, it provides a structured "company" of agent specialists that can be installed as modular plugins, ensuring that the right expertise is applied to the right problem without overloading the system with unnecessary functions.

How it works

Headcount organizes AI agents into 16 departments (e.g., Technology, Security, Finance) containing a total of 143 specific skills. These departments are independently installable plugins for Claude Code. When a user asks a question or gives a command, the system automatically loads the relevant specialist based on the domain of the request. Users can also manually invoke a specific skill using a department:skill syntax (e.g., /finance:financial-modeling). Each department includes an agent charter that allows it to be delegated as a subagent with its own dedicated write surface.
