World's first open-source, agentic video production system. 12 production pipelines, 100+ tools, 700+ agent skill and production-knowledge files. Turn your AI coding assistant into a full video production studio.

What it solves

OpenMontage automates the complex process of video production. Instead of manually searching for footage, writing scripts, and editing timelines, users can describe a concept in plain language, and an AI agent handles the entire workflow from research to final render.

How it works

The system uses an agentic pipeline to execute production stages. It can generate videos using two primary methods:

  1. Image-based animation: Using AI-generated images (like FLUX) and animating them via engines like Remotion or HyperFrames.
  2. Real-footage montage: Building a corpus from open archives (Archive.org, NASA, Wikimedia) and stock footage to edit actual motion clips into a finished piece.

The agent performs research, writes scripts, generates narration (TTS), sources music, and performs post-production tasks like burning in subtitles and color grading.

Who it’s for

  • Content Creators: Who want to turn text prompts or reference videos into polished social media content or explainers.
  • Developers: Who want to integrate agentic video production into their own workflows using various AI providers.
  • Educators: Who need to quickly create animated explainers on complex topics.

Highlights

  • Agentic Workflows: Handles research, scripting, asset generation, and composition autonomously.
  • Reference-based Production: Can analyze an existing YouTube, TikTok, or Reel to replicate its pacing, structure, and style for a new topic.
  • Live Storyboarding: Features a "Backlot" interface that shows the production progress, including script approval gates and asset generation.
  • Multi-modal Support: Integrates with various providers for video (Kling, Runway), images (FLUX), voice (ElevenLabs), and music (Suno).
