DaC is a dashboard-as-code tool. Build interactive dashboards using YAML and JSX. Built-in semantic layer. Get your agents to build standardized, reviewable dashboards.

What it solves

DAC solves the problem of creating and managing dashboards as code, allowing users to define them using YAML or TSX. It is specifically designed to enable AI agents to build dashboards in a reliable, reviewable, and version-controlled manner.

How it works

DAC uses a "Dashboard-as-Code" approach where dashboards are defined in configuration files (YAML) or code (TSX). It integrates with Bruin to support a wide range of major databases (Postgres, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks). It also features a built-in semantic layer that allows users to define metrics and dimensions once in a semantic/ directory and reference them across multiple widgets, with DAC automatically generating the necessary SQL.

Who it’s for

Data engineers, analysts, and AI agents tasked with creating data dashboards. It is particularly useful for those who prefer a version-controlled, software engineering approach to dashboards rather than a drag-and-drop interface.

Highlights

  • Dual Definition Formats: Supports both YAML for simple configuration and TSX for dynamic charts, tabs, loops, and conditionals.
  • Semantic Layer: Centralized definition of metrics and dimensions to ensure consistency and SQL generation.
  • AI Agent Ready: Includes bundled dashboard authoring skills for Claude and Codex to facilitate automated dashboard creation.
  • Broad Database Support: Connects to most major data warehouses and databases via Bruin.
