Build better UI with AI

What it solves

AI coding tools often generate mediocre user interfaces because they lack design context. TypeUI tackles this by providing curated design skills, UI prompts, and layout variation guidance that any AI can use to produce better-looking and more thoughtful designs when building websites or apps.

How it works

TypeUI is a repository of resources, primarily design skills available in both DESIGN.md and SKILL.md formats. These resources work with any AI provider that supports markdown files or general prompting. To use it, you install TypeUI where you build (your AI coding tool) and connect it via MCP (Model Context Protocol). Then you ask for UI in plain language, and TypeUI supplies the design systems, prompts, and layout variation guidance to the AI. The README lists integrations for many popular AI tools like Codex, Claude, Cursor, Grok, VS Code, and others, each with a dedicated guide.

Who it's for

Developers and designers who use AI coding assistants to build user interfaces and want more design-aware output. It's also for anyone using AI tools that can read markdown files or accept general prompts, since TypeUI's resources are provider-agnostic.
