Oh My PPT – Local‑first AI PowerPoint generator

What it is – A desktop application (Electron + React) that lets you create, edit and export presentation slides using generative AI. It works entirely on your computer: your prompts, model credentials and generated assets stay local, while the app can call any OpenAI‑compatible text model (e.g., GPT, Claude, Qwen, DeepSeek) and any image‑generation provider you configure.

Key capabilities

• AI‑driven slide creation – Describe a topic, choose a canvas size (16:9, 4:3, vertical, square, etc.) and let the model produce an outline, layout, colour scheme and text.
• Import & export PPTX – Existing PowerPoint files can be imported with near‑100 % visual fidelity, turned into editable HTML slides, and later exported back to an editable PPTX/Keynote file.
• HTML‑based editing – Slides are stored as editable HTML; you can drag‑drop elements, adjust fonts, add videos, apply animations (Anime.js), and edit LaTeX formulas.
• AI image generation – With a configured image model (e.g., Stable Diffusion, Gemini‑Image), the app can automatically generate illustrations, backgrounds or supplemental graphics that match the chosen style.
• Style library – Over 90 built‑in “style skills” (minimalist, cyber‑neon, Bauhaus, etc.) and support for custom style packs via the style‑generate‑skill repo.
• Local model support – Connect to a locally‑run Ollama server (or any OpenAI‑compatible endpoint) for text generation, keeping the workflow offline‑friendly.
• Export options – PDF, PNG (single or batch), long‑form PNG, MP4 video, or a self‑contained HTML bundle that runs in any browser.
• Versioning & collaboration – Automatic history, undo/redo, session management and the ability to save a session as a reusable template.

Typical workflow

1. Configure models – In Settings, add a text model (e.g., gpt‑4o) and optionally an image model.
2. Start a project – Choose Theme creation (type a prompt) or Document import (txt/md/docx) or Template.
3. AI generates – The model returns a structured slide deck; you can tweak via conversational commands (e.g., “make the title blue”).
4. Edit – Drag elements, add custom images/videos, set per‑element animations, or let the AI generate missing graphics.
5. Preview & present – Full‑screen slide mode with keyboard navigation.
6. Export – Save as PPTX for further editing, or as PDF/PNG/MP4 for sharing.

Installation – Download the installer from the GitHub Releases page (Windows / macOS). The app is unsigned, so macOS users may need to bypass the security warning (right‑click → Open or clear the quarantine attribute). No separate runtime is required; the bundled Electron runtime handles everything.
